What is a coaching business

What is a coaching business
Coaching is a type of business that helps people develop, as individuals, and achieve success in their lives, whether professionally or on a personal level. As a coach, you are expecting to work with your clients on a personal level, help them find their reasons and motivations and achieve their goals and dreams. Unlike a consultant, a coach is not expected to come up with miracle solutions - because you are not seeking a one-time solution to a one-time problem. On the contrary, as a coach you need to ask the right question to help the client find the right solutions for himself/herself - because you are working to develop lifetime solutions. This means that, the next time your client has a problem, instead of hiring you again, he or she needs to be able to solve the problem alone.

A coach helps people identify goals in a specific manner, and stay focused on them until they are achieved. This means a long-term partnership to help clients change their ways of acting, thinking, reacting, and some other vital aspects of their lives, so that they can meet their long-term goals.

One of the most important benefits a person can get by using a coach is to have lifelong dreams cleared and sorted out. There are many people out there longing for something, even if they are not very sure what it is, or having a dream which they hold impossible to accomplish, even if solutions may be found, with a certain amount of work and interest.

A coach will help the client set realistic, healthy and motivating goals - instead of asking for too much and being disappointed at the first attempt. The client's personal and professional development is accelerated to help them achieve more in a shorter period of time.

Very often clients need help to improve their communication skills - to help them speak out, clearly and efficiently, about their needs and suggestions both at work and at home or in society. A coach will help clients set priorities, guidelines and landmarks, and stick with them. Keep in mind that, as a coach, you will not set these priorities for your clients, but help them determine the right priorities for themselves. In the end, the goal is to have a healthy, balanced lifestyle, from every point of view, and to achieve a general feeling of wellbeing.

A client for a coach should have at least one goal he or she wants to achieve. It is vital for the client to understand that this goal cannot be achieved at once, but through long-term commitment, development and growth. The clients needs to be committed and willing to start working on the project - in other words, the respective goal must be sufficiently important for the client to be willing to make major changes in order to achieve it.

Coaching involves a personal relation with the client, based on trust and confidence. Clients will often have to ask delicate and embarrassing questions, and they need to speak the truth, otherwise the whole process may go wrong. The coach, in turn, has to be able to gain and keep the clients' trust, and to commit to them, in helping them pursues their dream.
